CVEL FACILITIES

Carrol A. Campbell Graduate Engineering Center

The newly established Clemson Vehicular Electronics Laboratory has been sharing space on the main campus with the Applied Electromagnetics Laboratory and the Wireless Communications Center. We have now moved to our new facility in the Carroll A. Campbell Jr. Graduate Engineering Center on the campus of the Clemson University International Center for Automotive Research (CU-ICAR). The new lab features a 28' x 20' x 18' RF semi-anechoic chamber for making electromagnetic emission and susceptibility measurements. It is equipped to do measurements and modeling of all aspects of automotive and aerospace vehicular electronics including electronic components, circuits, sensors, communications, power distribution and mechatronics with an emphasis on systems integration and electromagnetic compatibility.

The center also has a full-vehicle 4WD chassis dynamometer, 500 HP engine dynamometer, a full-vehicle dual-arm CMM, and a 7-post road simulator in an environmental chamber.
