There are 5 ways that companies can
work with the Clemson Vehicular Electronics
Laboratory:
-
Research
Contracts
Research contracts are used
to define the terms of large research
projects. Once a company's engineers have
worked out the specifics of a project with
researchers at the university, the Clemson
University Research Foundation can help
expedite the process of writing and
negotiating a contract. Clemson has a great
deal of experience working with companies
and is generally responsive to special
needs relative to intellectual property
rights, non-disclosure agreements,
etc...
-
Vehicular Electronics Consortium Membership
The easiest way for a company
to sponsor research at the university while
still maintaining certain intellectual
property rights is to become a member of
the Clemson University Vehicular
Electronics Consortium. Companies with a
consortium membership can work with
university researchers on specific research
projects and at the same time keep abreast
of all other projects being performed by
the consortium.
- Electromagnetic Compatibility Center Membership
Another way to sponsor research at Clemson is to become a member of the NSF I/UCRC for Electromagnetic Compatibility. This center focuses on EMC research sponsored by a variety of companies representing different industries. Four universities participate in this center including Clemson University, Missouri S&T, the University of Houston and the University of Oklahoma.
-
Consulting
Small projects (usually
lasting a few months or less) are often
best accomplished through a consulting
agreement. Consulting agreements have the
advantage that they can be set up very
quickly.
-
Equipment
or Software Donations
The Clemson University
International Center for Automotive
Electronics performs state-of-the-art
research using the most advanced
electronics measurement equipment and
software available.
