There are 4 ways that companies can work with the Clemson Vehicular Electronics Laboratory:

  1. Equipment or Software Donations

The Clemson University International Center for Automotive Electronics performs state-of-the-art research using the most advanced electronics measurement equipment and software available.

  2. Consulting

Small projects (usually lasting a few months or less) are often best accomplished through a consulting agreement. Consulting agreements have the advantage that they can be set up very quickly.

  3. Consortium Membership

The easiest way for a company to sponsor research at the university while still maintaining certain intellectual property rights is to become a member of the Clemson University Vehicular Electronics Consortium. Companies with a consortium membership can work with university researchers on specific research projects and at the same time keep abreast of all other projects being performed by the consortium.

  4. Research Contracts

Research contracts are used to define the terms of large research projects. Once a company's engineers have worked out the specifics of a project with researchers at the university, the Clemson University Research Foundation can help expedite the process of writing and negotiating a contract. Clemson has a great deal of experience working with companies and is generally responsive to special needs relative to intellectual property rights, non-disclosure agreements, etc...
